Okay, I can face reality. This is blogworld. Try as I might, I can’t evade these meme-taggers forever.
7 Odd and/or Interesting Things
Since there are approximately 123,456,789 memes currently circulating, I need to explain which one this is. Fortunately, just seven odd and interesting things about moi. I think everyone tagged so far is a designer-type, too. Oh, and it was Lisa Wood who tagged me.
Interesting/Odd Item, the first:
I really hate high heels. Really. Hate. Them. Give me my Tretorns with the fuzzy linings any day. I admit it; I’m not glamorous. But while I may be harder to sweep off my feet, at least I’m less likely to sprain my ankle.
Interesting/Odd Item, the second:
Continuing with the clothing-should-be-comfortable theme, I believe we would all prosper and be wise and kind if we lived in a pajama colony.
Interesting/Odd Item, the third:
I appear to collect desks, though I rarely work or write at one. Still, a room is not complete without a desk.
Interesting/Odd Item, the fourth:
I remain goofily in love with my husband. He’s my best friend and he’s the dreamiest. (Those two kids of ours ain’t too bad, either.)
Interesting/Odd Item, the fifth:
Interesting/Odd Item, the sixth:
I enjoy quaint and droll language. I doth, indeed.
Interesting/Odd Item, the last:
My favorite list comes from Connie Willis’ novel Bellwether. It’s a list of things one might write down if asked to write a trendy pop-psych-y list of “action items.” Read and learn, grasshopper.
- Optimize potential
- Facilitate Empowerment
- Implement visioning.
- Strategize priorities.
- Augment core structures.
I’m tagging Kathryn Presner, Richard Miller, Graham Smith, Kristarella, and Chris Pearson. Tag, you’re it.

I completely agree on the pajama colony thing
I don’t.
Don’t ask me to explain the whys and what-nots but I’ve tried it and continue to try it, but even if I know I’m not going out at all I prefer to get dressed.
That’s right, I’m your pajama colony anarchist!
@Marc such a rebel.
@LisaWood great minds, or at least great Lisas, think alike…

And I believe the desk-collecting is genetic…Your parents do it…I now do it… I fear for my poor children.
